Friendly defeat against FSV Budissa Bautzen D1

The first test of the new year - finally it's starting again …. Visiting us were the D1 (Landesliga) team of FSV Budissa Bautzen e.V. Yes, of course it was also the first tough test on a full-size pitch for the guys from the Spreestadt, but we knew what quality was coming at us. The opening minutes were characterized by mutual probing, but from around the 10th minute Budissa took control. From then on we were basically only moving backwards. No surprise: 0-1 in the 12th minute! This early setback didn't cause any displeasure in the squad, but it spurred the Bautzen players on even more. Chance after chance the Spreestadt team created. Only thanks to our defense did we go into the break at 0-1. Over a warm tea (temperatures just below 0 ☝️🥶) we wanted to gather our strength again to get a reaction on the pitch.
No such luck, unfortunately… FSV controlled large parts of the match and the SGM only reacted, instead of managing to produce a response on the field. If you can't get a grip on midfield, even the best defense gradually falls apart…. In the end it finished 0-6 (not undeserved even by the margin) ‼️ We also want to emphasize that five of our D youth players were given the chance to get a taste of playing on a full-size pitch ❤️🤍🦾 ‼️ Thanks to Bautzen for this test - you'll make your way, we already saw that today!!!
For our SGM C youth it's now: learn from the mistakes and take the positives from the game ‼️
Now it's back to training - training - training… because without hard work, no reward ⚽️😚👍❤️🤍
