Cunewalder E2 youth at the tournament in Gaußig
At the weekend our E2 traveled to SV Gaußig, who had hosted an E-youth tournament.
For our reserve squad the first group match was immediately against the representatives of Bischofswerdaer FV 08; our boys and girls acquitted themselves well but came up short, losing 0:2.
Against TSV 90 Neukirch we secured the first 3 points with a 2:1 victory.
Everything was possible!! The semifinal within sight!! So off to the last game of the group stage against SSV Neustadt-Sachsen.
Luck was not on our side. We lost by the most frustrating score imaginable, namely 0:1. With a win the semifinal would have been within reach. A real shame!!
Thus we went into the 4th semifinal against the footballers of SV Bischheim-Häslich e.V.; there the breakthrough came and our team won 2:0, which simultaneously meant qualification for the match for 5th place.
Our opponent was Neustadt again!! Now everyone wanted revenge for the group match. YES — the girls and boys succeeded, emerging from the match as winners with a 4:0 score.
With a bit more luck in play a jump onto the podium would also have been possible, but we are ALL PROUD OF YOU!!!!
Thanks to the coach, the players and the supporters who backed us.
