CunewaldeThe D youth team at the CABERO DUBAI-Cup in Dresden
Our Cunewalde D youth team was in action on Saturday at the CABERO Dubai-Cup.
Here fun was simply the top priority and the opportunity to get to know teams we otherwise never play against.
But unfortunately, during the group stage fun was really our top priority; added to that was the respect for clubs whose youth work is very good and appreciated.
So we were only able to record one victory, a 2:1 against VfB Empor Glauchau.
Thus our opponent in the intermediate round was SG Adelsberg e.V.; unfortunately the result was not as expected. We had to accept a 1:4 defeat. That meant, in all consequence, we were playing for the second-to-last place!
There it came, of all things, to a derby against SV Oberland Spree, and what a district derby can unleash!! FINALLY IT WAS TIME!!!
We won the last game 4:2!! That was a satisfying conclusion.
Thanks to the two coaches, the players and all the fans who made the long journey to the most beautiful state capital of Germany, to Dresden.
Thanks also to the organizer BFC Dresden
