CunewaldeFor youth football at the KICKFIXX indoor tournaments 2024
At the weekend, the indoor tournaments took place in Neusalza-Spremberg, organized by the 1. Ostsächsische Fußballschule e. V. - kickfixx.
The Young Wild Ones from Cunewalde competed in every age group with varying success.
Our Cunewalde D-Youth kicked things off and started with a 2:0 win against BSG Sohland-Oppach. Unfortunately the remaining matches were all lost, which in the final standings meant 8th place. Mira Pfeifer was selected for the All-Star team.
On Saturday morning our Cunewalde G-Youth started in a playing system unfamiliar to them. They acquitted themselves respectably, with 2 draws and one win. That meant a match for 8th place against ESV Lokomotive Zittau e.V., which our youngest lost 3:4 after a penalty shootout. Lina Seidlich was named to the All-Star team.
In the afternoon our Cunewalde F1 took part in the tournament and finished the group stage in second place, behind the eventual tournament winners Holtendorfer SV. In the semi-final we lost to SpG FCO-Nachwuchs/ SV Neueibau 0:2. On to the third-place match against TSV Großschönau, where our side were successful with a 2:1 win. Our Marek Hensel was selected for the All-Star team.
Sunday morning belonged to our Cunewalde F2, who finished the group stage in 2nd place. That meant the semi-final; unfortunately the Lok from Zittau prevailed 2:0 and once again we were in the match for 3rd place. There we faced TSV 1859 Wehrsdorf, whom we beat 3:2 after a penalty shootout.
The E2 played their tournament on Sunday afternoon and paradoxically also finished the group stage in 2nd place. Against the eventual tournament winners Dresdner SC 1898 - Fußball we lost 0:4 and, who would have thought, played for 3rd place. We won the match against Bischofswerdaer FV 08 2:1.
The Young Wild Ones once again put on a good show and did our club proud.
The football department thanks all the boys and girls, the parents, coaches and supporters for your commitment.
