The somewhat different 2020–21 season
A somewhat unusual season, altered by various lockdowns and temporary closures, ended with a really smart season finale. But let’s start at the beginning. Our F youth was supposed to start without a coach and with age-related departures. With only seven children it was simply hopeless.
The courageous intervention of the parents and the printing of flyers brought us the growth we needed. Through word of mouth and a few phone calls we were also able to recruit a young coach who took care of our children! R. Müller came to us from Hochkirch and after 2–3 sessions with the “little grenades” he knew that a lot could be achieved here! The good season start of our F youth could only be stopped by Corona — otherwise they would certainly have been playing for places 3–5!
But there was a very, very long silence in football!!! No indoor season, no cups, no medals — so everything was very, very difficult…. BUT SG Motor lives on!!!!
At the start of training after the lockdown even more children turned up. It was simply wonderful to see how our little grenades hadn’t swapped their love of football for the Play Station and wanted to keep working on their skills. We parents also grew closer and formed the backbone of this team. In the last weeks many friendly matches were played, with some truly great games!!!
Big wins but also bitter defeats. Nevertheless, EVERYONE was always there and gave their best. We as parents are simply mega proud of each and every one.
The season finale was fittingly ended with a kids vs. parents kickabout. Over pizza and Fassbrause small surprises were handed out to the boys and girls! Thanks for that, of course, go to all the sponsors and SG Motor! The children wear their new shirts with pride and of course represent our home club at the schools and in the daycare!
Conclusion: thank you, thank you, thank you Coach Ricci for sacrificing so much for our little ones and also co-(parent) coaches Robert and Marcel!!! Without you there would be no F youth — THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

A thank you also goes, of course, to the new board of SG Motor Cunewalde who are slowly beginning to understand that the CHILDREN are the FUTURE of the club. We look forward to the coming season when we will form a really strong squad with 15 children. For now: have a great holiday and a nice vacation — come back healthy!!!!
Unfortunately our club cannot field an E-youth next season. Therefore new faces are of course always warmly welcome. Together we form the backbone of the SG Motor Cunewalde and will once again fight fine battles on the notorious Eichberg.
