Derby victory in Wilthen
Sunday, derby, hard pitch, rain and wintry temperatures...
Football lover, what more could you want?
Last Sunday our men's team faced SG Wilthen. After the last two poor performances they wanted to finally get 3 points and put on a more convincing display in Wilthen.
After his brace (16'/34') Mieth set the course early for an away win. With the halftime whistle a penalty that would have made it a reassuring 3:0 lead was missed.
After the break Wilthen pulled one back from a set piece, before Striegler sealed the match with a counter in the closing minutes!
It wasn't a pretty game, but in the end, even in these unpleasant conditions, the important 3 points count — and, as already against Neukirch, the realization that we can also get scrappy wins!
Now we still have two home games left before the winter break. First, SV Burkau e.V. will travel to the Cunewalder Eichberg on Saturday. Kick-off is already at 13:30!
To close the first half of the season, on 30 November the rescheduled match against FSV Bretnig-Hauswalde e.V. follows. Kick-off here will already be at 13:00.
