Table tennis - Successful league season with three teams in promotion spots
A very successful season for the table tennis department of SG Motor Cunewalde is drawing to a close.
Our first men's team in the Bezirksklasse, with team manager Jens Weickert, secured on 28.3.26 a 10:5 away victory at SV Viktoria Gablenz and promotion to the 2. Bezirksliga after a magnificent season. One matchday before the end of the season the team, on 21:5 points, occupies an unassailable position: second place in the table, one point behind SV Weiß-Rot Schirgiswalde and the promotion spot.
The second men's team in the 1. Kreisklasse, with team manager Carsten Rudolph, after completing an outstanding league season stands undefeated on top of the table with 27:1 points and thus holds the right to promotion to the 2. Kreisliga held. The last league match was won on 25.3.26 in Hochkirch against the third-placed SG Hochkirch/Baruth 3. by 10:5
One matchday before the end of the season our third men's team in the 2. Kreisklasse, with team manager and head of department Michael Otto, after a fabulous season with 24:2 points occupies first place in the table. The team also has a right to promotion to the 1. Kreisklasse secure, as the first and second table positions qualify for promotion. The last league match will take place on 31.3.26 at sixth-placed TSV 1859 Wehrsdorf 4.
Congratulations to all three teams on their promotion spots!
Our fourth men's team in the 2. Kreisklasse, with team manager Andreas Härtwig, stands one matchday before the end of the season with 19:7 points in a very good third place in the table, which, because of the large lead, will remain after the last league match. The final league match of the season will take place on 16.4. against second-placed TTSV Kirschau/Sohland 4., which is only one point behind Cunewalde 3. in the table.
The youth team with team manager and youth chairman Ralf Weickert finishes the season in the placement round of Kreisklasse Jugend 19 with 4:8 points fifth place in the table.
At this point we would like to warmly thank all team managers for their great commitment. In particular, we would like to highlight the tremendous, tireless dedication and enthusiasm of our youth coach Ralf Weickert, who, among other things, undertook many time-consuming away trips with the youth, e.g. to Räckelwitz.
