Visit to our partner municipality Donges
On Ascension weekend it was finally time again: we had the pleasure of visiting our beloved partner municipality Donges – accompanied by an impressive delegation of residents and our C team! From the very beginning there was a special atmosphere in the air that would accompany the entire weekend.
Friday took us to the spectacular amusement park Puy du Fou, where a veritable fireworks of unforgettable experiences awaited us. Breathtaking attractions followed one another: from impressive birds of prey shows to action-packed Viking reenactments to the heroic stories of the Musketeers and of King Arthur.
It was simply magical!
The crowning finale was a gigantic light show in the evening that left us all in awe.
Another highlight was our visit to Café Madelon, where, with delicious food and a magnificent revue, we were able to experience a fascinating journey back to the 19th century.
That evening was a feast for the senses! Full of unforgettable impressions and with beaming faces, we finally returned to Donges late that night.
Saturday was all about games, fun and community.
Our children spent a wonderful day at a cheerful picnic in the park, were able to climb to their hearts' content and then really let loose playing laser tag.
But that wasn't all: a short detour to the beach provided extra excitement before the eagerly anticipated tournament kicked off in the evening.
A particularly emotional moment was the presentation of a banner by our boys, through which we expressed our growing friendship with Donges FC.
Contrary to all rumours and other reports, we are proud to say:
Our boys won their games 3:2! A result that brought beaming eyes, broad grins and a great deal of pride.
The evening then turned into a warm, joyful celebration of community. Over crêpes, fries, cool drinks and long, heartfelt conversations we wound down the day – an evening that lingered on, full of laughter, closeness and genuine friendship.
The final day was all about free time – and how could it be otherwise: our footballers were drawn to the beach, where they, barefoot in the sand, did what they love most – played football!
A dreamlike finale, sun-drenched, light, carefree. When the moment of farewell finally came, tears flowed of sorrow, but also of gratitude, a sense of connection and the certainty:
We'll see each other again! Absolutely!
Something has emerged here that goes far beyond football.
