End of an era - youth officer Ralf Weickert concludes the table tennis youth program with a lovely closing celebration

On Thursday, 11 June 2026, the youth season-closing celebration of the youth of the Abteilung Tischtennis of SG Motor Cunewalde took place on the tennis courts in Obercunewalde. The youngsters played tennis and speedminton with youth coach Ralf Weickert in fine weather (Matteo Hans on the right and Benjamin Berge at the front left in the photo playing speedminton). It gave everyone great pleasure. In the closing-event photo, from left to right: Luca Ben Reichardt, Anton Lüdeke, Moritz Bansemeier, Ralf Weickert, Benjamin Berge, Friedemann Blümel. Unfortunately Lenny Weickert was unable to attend. Deputy youth coach Stefan Blümel bought döner for dinner. To our surprise, our youth coordinator Ralf Weickert announced his official resignation as youth coach for private reasons, but will remain an active member of the Abteilung Tischtennis. An era thus comes to an end. For many years Ralf Weickert dedicated himself superbly to the youth section of our Abteilung Tischtennis with boundless commitment and a huge investment of time. He enthusiastically introduced many children to the wonderful sport of table tennis, coached the youth, and accompanied the children and adolescents to many league matches and tournaments.
