Mixed start to the men's second half of the season

The men began the second half of the 2025/26 season with 1 win and 2 defeats.
In the first match against Kubschütz one could see a motivated and eager-to-play Motor-Elf. Chances were created again and again (and squandered aplenty) and the team finally acted as a unit on the pitch. Thanks to goals by Kalauch, Striegler (penalty), Mieth, Böhme and an own goal on the cunewäldner side, the result is a deserved 5:2 victory. The only criticism to make is the poor chance conversion. Still, the match showed the potential in the squad.
The next two matchdays, however, again showed a downward trend. In both the game against Burkau and against the table neighbours from Göda the squad was severely depleted by injuries and private issues, which unfortunately was clearly reflected in the course of the matches. Consequently both matches were lost (1:4 Burkau and 2:0 Göda). The only goal for the Motor men was scored by Striegler after a fine assist from Kalauch.
In the end, of course, still far too little and well below the team's own standards and expectations!
So, after the third matchday of the second half and a total of 16 matches played, they sit 12th out of 14 with a meagre 13 points. They are therefore right in the middle of the relegation battle!
Let’s hope the team shows a different face in the coming matches and picks up the urgently needed points, especially against direct rivals/table neighbours.
