Table tennis - Two gold medals at the district youth championships
The county championships of the Kreisfachverbandes Bautzen in table tennis for girls and boys, singles and doubles, took place in Laußnitz on 19.9.26 (Youth 11 and Youth 15) and on 20.9.26 (Youth 13 and Youth 19) and were excellently organized.
From the Table Tennis Department of SG Motor Cunewalde, Friedemann Blümel participated in this tournament in the Boys 19 age group.
In the Boys 19 category, 28 participants started in 8 groups in the singles competition. The group winners and runners-up qualified for the final round. Friedemann finished first in his group with 2:0 matches and 6:0 sets ahead of Denny Lippert (SV Laußnitz) and Matthias Kuhn (SG Wallroda).
In the final round, played as a knockout competition, Friedemann progressed to the final with strong performances. On his way there he defeated Simon Schön (SG Steinigtwolmsdorf) 3:0 in the round of 16, won 3:1 against Tim Pietsch (MSV Bautzen 04) in the quarterfinals and beat Linus Ebert (Bautzen) 3:0 in the semifinal. In the final Friedemann won 3:0 against Finn Lehmann (MSV Bautzen 04).
After many high-quality rallies and a great deal of effort, Friedemann became county champion in singles. He was able to look forward to receiving the gold medal, the winner's trophy and a certificate. Congratulations! For the regional championship on 4.10.26 in Neusalza-Spremberg, Friedemann had already been pre-qualified due to his very good ranking results.
In the doubles competition, which was also played in a knockout format, Friedemann teamed up with his doubles partner Tim Pietsch (MSV Bautzen 04). The pair fought their way impressively to the final, which they won relatively clearly 3:0 against the duo Finn Lehmann (MSV Bautzen 04)/William Petrich (SV Kubschütz). Thus Friedemann and Tim celebrated the county championship title, the gold medal and a certificate.
