Michael Otto awarded the STTV's golden table tennis racket
Michael Otto has been the head of our Abteilung Tischtennis at SG Motor Cunewalde since 2018. With great commitment, a significant investment of time and genuine dedication, he has steered our department’s affairs, which has certainly not always been easy. A highlight was the celebrations around the 70th anniversary of our Abteilung Tischtennis in September 2021, which he played a leading and exemplary role in organizing. He likewise served as the principal organizer of the traditional Christmas tournaments and was heavily involved in organizing the Sachsenmeisterschaften in Cunewalde.
Previously he served as treasurer of the Abteilung Tischtennis, also worked as a team manager, took on training of children and youth together with other members, and organized various league matches. When Peter Hesse was still President, he served as a board member of the SG together with Jens Weickert.
In recognition of his many extraordinary voluntary services to table tennis in Cunewalde and his many years of active involvement, Michael Otto was awarded the golden table tennis racket by the Sächsischen Tischtennis-Verband on 29.8.2026. Department board chair Stefan Blümel presented the certificate, signed by President Thomas Neubert, and the golden table tennis racket during a post-celebration of his 70th birthday at the bowling alley in front of the members of the Abteilung Tischtennis, who applauded enthusiastically.
