Good youth work bears fruit.
We are proud to report that the football department's strong youth work is bearing fruit. D-youth goalkeeper Bianca Kutschke received an invitation to the regional selection of East Saxony and was able to take part in the SFV tournament in Freital with other talents from WFV clubs. The football department's thanks go to coaches Christian Seibt, Matthias Bär and Torsten Kloß for their excellent coaching work and commitment.
“On 26 September it was the youth players born 2008–2010 who were able to demonstrate their talent in a tournament featuring a total of six teams from the surrounding district and city associations. WFV district selection coach Tino Gottlöber was able to select eleven girls for this tournament after three training sessions. Under ideal conditions, five matches were played against the best players from the other participating associations under the close scrutiny of four SFV scouts. The Westlausitz selection remained unbeaten and would have been the tournament winner on sporting merit.” (Source: Anpfiff-Online October issue 2021)
