Cunewalder youth at the Kickfixx indoor tournaments in Neusalza-Spremberg
On Friday, 16/01/2026, the D-youth kicked off and immediately faced a tough opponent in the first match. The U12 of FSV Budissa Bautzen e.V. awaited us and, despite strong resistance, we lost 0:3. The breakthrough didn’t come in the second match either; in the end we drew 1:1 with TSV Wehrsdorf. The third match could be summed up as "whoever doesn't score up front…", and the footballers of SV Blau-Weiss Deutsch-Ossig Fanpage won 3:0. In the final game we finally had the chance to let off some steam, which worked out well with a 4:1 win over BSG Sohland-Oppach.
We put the final touch on the tournament in the seventh-place match, leaving SG Steinigwolmsdorf with no chance in a 5:0 victory.
A good result, considering that apart from three players we competed with a U12 team; our players did themselves proud!
On Saturday afternoon our young E-year squad took the stage. SV Grün-Weiß Hochkirch narrowly won the first match 1:0, but we followed up with a 3:0 win over SG Steinigwolmsdorf. Those were our only points in the group stage, however, as FSV 1990 Neusalza-Spremberg beat us 3:1 and SpG TSV Großschönau defeated us 4:0.
The match for seventh place required strong nerves, as it was back and forth until the end. Ultimately a penalty shootout had to decide the ranking, and the athletes of SV 1896 Großdubrau won by the narrowest of margins, 3:4.
Still, an 8th place is a fine result for the young E-year squad and the coaches can hopefully be satisfied.
On Sunday at 08:30 our F-juniors and junior girls continued their tournament. In the first game we immediately put a 6:0 on the board, leaving the players of SpG TSV Großschönau with no chance. Sportclub Großschweidnitz-Löbau proved a tougher opponent, but we also handled them 2:0. The scoring continued against FSV Neusalza-Spremberg with a 4:0, bringing our goal difference to 12:0. In the final group match GFC Rauschwalde showed us our limits with a 0:3, which meant SV Blau-Weiß Deutsch-Ossig was our opponent in the semifinal. Unfortunately the ball crossed the line only once — ours — resulting in a 0:1 defeat. The chance to claim third place and beat SpG SV Neueibau / FCO-Nachwuchs followed, but the football gods were not on our side and we lost again 0:1!
Chin up! You played a great tournament and we had Bruno Löchel as the top scorer.
Right after that our E1 had to prove that they learned how to play football with us. We gave the boys from Großschönau no chance in the first match, winning 3:1, and Deutsch-Ossig were also dispatched 4:0. In the final group match we faced our toughest opponent, SpG Schönbacher FV / TSG Lawalde, and it ended 1:1. In the semifinal a 1:0 win over Hochkirch was enough to reach the final, where we met the boys from Schönbach/Lawalde again.
In the end we won by the narrowest margin, 2:1, and claimed the tournament title!
This was topped off by the selection of Till Sieber and Jos Siede to the All-Star Team. What a perfect finale!
A very special thanks to the tournament management, who did an outstanding job all weekend! We will gladly come back!
Of course we must not forget our Mey Siede, who first played with the D team and then took part in the tournament as a referee.
