2026 Spring Tournament for the F-Junioren
On Saturday morning, the boys and girls of the F-Jugend kicked off the spring cup. In beautiful sunshine, with good catering and with the participation of our fellow clubs, the tournament got underway.
The F1‑Jugend of SG Motor Cunewalde delivered an impressively strong performance at the tournament and ultimately finished in an excellent 2nd place. With 16 points, a goal difference of +17 and only 2 goals conceded, they were among the strongest teams in the entire tournament.
They opened with an eye-catching result, a 1:0 victory against the eventual tournament winners SpG FCO-Nachwuchs/ SV Neueibau. Throughout the event the team impressed with strong tackling, skilful dribbling and a solid defence. The wins against SV Lautitz 96 (5:0), SV 1896 Großdubrau (4:0), SG Motor Cunewalde 2. (4:0) and SV Post Germania Bautzen e.V. (4:0) in particular demonstrated the squad's potential. Only against the top teams FSV Budissa Bautzen e.V. (1:2) and Blau-Weiß Deutsch-Ossig (0:0) did they drop the points that would have been needed for the tournament victory. The F1 presented itself as a well-drilled, technically strong side with great attacking potential. The second place is well deserved and shows that the team ranks among the strongest in the region. Particularly impressive: 19 goals scored and only 2 conceded.
SG Motor Cunewalde's second team competed in the spring tournament with great commitment and team spirit. Despite tough opponents and a very strong field, the team gained valuable experience and showed promising signs in several matches. They began with a narrow 1:2 loss to SV Lautitz 96 but already displayed courage and attacking intent there. Throughout the tournament they repeatedly created scoring chances — especially in the match against SV 1896 Großdubrau (1:2), where the team remained on equal terms for long periods. As expected, it was difficult against the tournament's top teams, but the side stayed combative and never gave up. The derby against their own first team ended 0:4, yet it demonstrated that the boys and girls of the second team did not shy away.
Even though they didn't pick up any points in the end, SG Motor Cunewalde 2 gained important experience. The team showed character, a willingness to learn and cohesion — all qualities that are crucial for the development of young players. With continued training, this team will certainly make significant progress in the future.
The children would like to thank all the helpers who made the tournament possible!
