Spring Tournament for D Juniors 2026
On Saturday afternoon our D youth team took to the field.
They delivered a combative and technically solid performance at the spring tournament. In the end the team finished 3rd in the overall standings with 15 points and a goal difference of +1.
The tournament began shakily with a 0:1 defeat against GFC Rauschwalde, but the team quickly found its footing. Particularly important was the 1:0 victory against SV Post Germania Bautzen e.V., which stabilized the team early. As the competition progressed, Cunewalde showed a good mix of attacking initiative and defensive discipline, which was especially evident in the matches
The boys and girls showed high commitment, strong morale and a solid defense throughout the tournament. Particularly impressive was that our team was able to keep up with — or even beat — several top teams.
The D youth team presented itself as a strong and well-organized side that improved steadily over the course of the tournament. Third place is a very good result in a balanced and demanding field of participants. With a bit more luck in the close matches even more would have been possible.
A big thank you to all the players, coaches, fans and, of course, all the helpers!
