Preussen Cup 2022 F and E Youth
Successful weekend at the "Preussen Cup 2022 F/E Jugend"
Everyone should take a little trip to Elsterwerda in Brandenburg at least once in their life. So, of course, we were very pleased to receive the invitation from SV Preussen Elsterwerda. Two F-youth teams on Saturday and an E-youth squad of the "little grenades" for Sunday were firmly planned.
Saturday was more than successful for our SG Motor. In the end we finished in 1st and 4th place. Our Theodor had a dream day and became the (unofficial) top scorer with 12 goals, and our little Adrian crowned his performance with his first two tournament goals in the SG Motor shirt. All in all, as a functioning unit we were more than happy!!!! Well, as parents you couldn't be prouder ☝️☺️… Thanks again go to Ricci and his coaching team for this great work with our "little grenades"!!!
But the highlight of the weekend was the overnight stay — because, thanks to our sponsors, something nice was organized for the kids who were to play E-youth again on Sunday. The manager of www.Landhaus-groeden.de took excellent care of her little guests, and after a hearty dinner and the odd cola they turned in. They fell asleep quickly and were, of course, fit again on Sunday — after all, the next tournament was on the schedule.
There we also surprised our opponents one after another. After wins in the preliminary round against SV Preussen Elsterwerda I (3:0) and the Preussen Girls (3:1) and a narrow 0:1 defeat against SV Eintracht Dobritz, we advanced to the championship round! WOW — among the top 4 teams at such a tournament!!!! Hats off, friends…. In that round we did run out of steam a bit and learned a lesson. Nevertheless, no opponent underestimated us anymore and we gave our best! 4th place was then celebrated accordingly, after all Riccardo Müller knows how to assess the performance correctly. Dear SV Preussen Elsterwerda, we would love to come back! Many thanks for the organization and the great weekend! Our little kickers will be talking about it for a very long time. A very big thank you also to our four sponsors who made it quick and uncomplicated for us to stay overnight there.
