Hexenbrennen Cup 2026
What an evening in Bautzen!
At the Hexenbrennen‑Cup for F-Junioren, our F1-Junioren delivered a passionate, courageous and playfully inspiring performance – and deservedly crowned themselves with a fantastic 3rd place. The boys and girls played as if they had sparks in their shoes – full of energy, team spirit and untamed determination.
Already in the group stage the team made it clear: we are a real top team today! They showed this with a 3:1 against FSV Budissa Bautzen e.V.I, followed by a 4:0 against Budissa Bautzen III; against the eventual tournament winner SC BOREA Dresden we earned a 1:1, and only in the last group match did we suffer a setback with a 1:5 against SV Blau‑Gelb Stolpen. With 7 points and a goal difference of 9:7 Cunewalde stormed into the semi-finals as group runners-up. Our team played bravely, combined accurately and showed impressive cohesion.
Unfortunately we lost the semi-final 1:2 against the players of VfL Pirna-Copitz 07 e.V.! But what a fight! We gave everything, showed heart, passion and great moves. In the end only a small bit of luck was missing to reach the final. Yet the team stayed focused – and that would pay off.
Then came the third-place match — and what a furious finale! In the little final Cunewalde once again produced a real fireworks display: secure in their passing, aggressive in the duels and ice-cold in front of goal. We won against the team of Budissa Bautzen II 2:0!
If the Hexenhaufen hadn’t already burned down earlier, the sparks our footballers struck would have ignited the pile! One wants to shout: “Hey men’s team, look at how football and passion are done!!”
P.S.: Our Lina was named best goalkeeper!!
