E-Youth Tournament Cunewalder-Budenzauber 2022
On Saturday at 09:00 the time had come: the big „Cunewalder-Budenzauber“ could begin. We once again didn’t skimp on the teams, but went all out!
The coaching team around Riccardo Müller sent 2 teams into the race for the big trophy. The favorites, however, were other teams. But that did not deter our E-Jugend; it rather increased their fighting spirit and they didn’t want to leave the field to the others without a fight.
Our 1st team faced SV Preussen Elsterwerda in the opening match; after an evenly matched game they drew 0:0. That was a really good start for our team! Our second side had to bow to Budissa Bautzen 2, losing 0:4. But they still kept their heads up. Unfortunately there wasn’t much more to be had for our Granaten in the group matches, but we can proudly say that we didn’t go under in any of the games. We were at least equal in every match, yet unfortunately the luck didn’t tip in our favor.
The SG Motor Cunewalde 2 finished in 8th place after a narrow 0:1 defeat against SV Preussen Elsterwerda. Our first side beat Budissa Bautzen 2 2:0 and thus fought their way to 5th place. This victory showed everyone that we can definitely hold our own and that SG Motor will have to be reckoned with in the future.
In semifinal 1 Budissa Bautzen 1 prevailed 3:0 against Post Germania Bautzen and advanced to the final. There they met Neusalza-Spremberg, which won the second semifinal in a 9m shootout against the side from Oberland-Spree.
The final had outdone everything in terms of play and was only decided in a 9m shootout in favor of FSV Neuslaza-Spremberg. But the final didn’t deserve a loser!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Neusalza-Spremberg on the tournament victory!!!!
Everyone had a tremendous amount of fun and even though no spectators were allowed, there was a great atmosphere under the roof. We would like to thank all the helpers, the teams, the supervisors and above all our coaching team.
The trophy for the „best goalkeeper“ was won by our Marc Maison Martín!!! Congratulations, Kleine Granate!!!
